If you’ve ever seen a jump rope team perform, you know how mesmerizing it can be to watch the choreography and skill. The question is, how do you actually start one yourself? We want to help.
I’m really passionate about giving you the tools to make this a reality. Why? My entire jump rope career began as part of a jump rope team in Juneau, AK. When I was in 2nd grade, we had a jump rope team perform at my elementary school and my PE Teacher decided to create one himself. I remember trying out and the disappointment I had when I didn’t make the cut. However, I started practicing and made it onto the Glacier Valley jump rope team in 3rd Grade. We went on to win 7 World Championships (as the Juneau Jumpers) and my life has never been the same. If you are at all interested in starting a jump rope team, I want to give you the know-how to make it a reality.
I’ve teamed up with Coach Tommy Hager who has coached a few different jump rope teams since the mid-90’s. He has coached both competitive and show teams. He has also coached non-profit and for-profit teams. His experience fit perfectly with mine so that we can offer you all the practical steps on how to make this happen. In this section we discuss a lot of material. We deal with finding a location, getting kids for your team, dealing with parents, how to set-up a practice, creating a show, where to perform, how much to charge and more! You will get practical advice that you can start using today!
